Weston working group backs 480-unit Boston Properties housing plan, 6-1
WESTON — August 7, 2025 — Weston's joint MBTA 3A working group voted 6-1 to advance a 480-unit Boston Properties housing framework toward an October 15 town meeting. Planning Board Chair Lisa Revers and her colleagues backed the three-phase plan at 133 Boston Post Road — 100 townhomes, a 280-unit apartment building, and 100 future senior housing units replacing existing office space — with a guaranteed 15 percent affordability rate across all phases. Planning Board member Al Adelot argued the senior housing phase would actually reduce site impact, cutting roughly 1,300 daily occupants and 750 cars compared to the office building it would replace. The lone no vote came from Planning Board member Alex Selvig, who favored a hybrid option spreading fewer units across the site. The group also reached consensus on allocating remaining required units — approximately 100 at 751 Boston Post Road, 100 at Merriam Village, and about 30 combined at Maplewood and Charles River Rehabilitation — as Weston races to finalize zoning bylaws before a December state compliance deadline, with a draft development agreement amendment expected from Boston Properties on August 11.
