Weston boards approve 3A presentation strategy ahead of October 15 town meeting vote

WESTON — October 9, 2025 — Weston's joint Select Board and Planning Board MBTA 3A Working Group held a final prep session Thursday ahead of an October 15 town meeting vote on the town's MBTA Communities Act compliance plan. Select Board Chair Lisa Revers said the town's RKG financial analysis projects between 91 and 198 new school-aged children from 380 near-term housing units at the Boston Properties site at 133 Boston Post Road, pushing back against what she called unfounded community estimates of 1,500 to 2,000. Planning Board member Al Adelot reported Boston Properties has agreed to cut office-building vehicle trips by 200 and that full build-out of all three phases is projected to reduce total site traffic by at least 40 percent. Town Manager Leon Gaumond was asked to assemble a school enrollment slide and possible handout before town meeting. Resident Carrie Winchman cautioned during public comment against relying solely on the RKG report, calling the projections "very low," and suggested the town seek enrollment data from Lincoln's established 3A-comparable developments. A confirmed $278,000 state grant and the threat of enforcement penalties hang on the outcome of the Wednesday vote.
