Weston Select Board Authorizes Case Estate Sale Solicitation, Names Broker
WESTON — August 12, 2025 — Weston Select Board advances Case Estate sale and previews October special town meeting warrant. The three-member board voted unanimously Tuesday to award a broker contract to Compass of Weston at a 2.5 percent commission and to authorize Town Manager Leanne Gauman to issue request-for-qualifications documents for the sale of the estate's stable, schoolhouse, and Rand house as single-family residences, with architectural concept drawings provided by Patrick Ahern and Member Alfred L. Aydelott. The board also received informational presentations on two Route 117 intersection improvement projects — at Merriam Street and at Viles Street — estimated at roughly $1 million and $426,000 respectively, both requiring future town meeting votes for design funding. Chair Lise N. Revers said she wants a ranked priority list of road projects before either goes to voters. On the October 15 Special Town Meeting warrant, Town Moderator Rip Hastings withdrew his request for a town meeting study committee article, and the board left open a Friends of the Weston Depot reallocation article pending more petition signatures and a fuller Historic Commission vote.
