Kendal Common committee finalizes outreach letter, plans fall neighborhood meeting

WESTON — June 22, 2023 — Weston's Kendal Common Local Historic District Study Committee finalized a one-page resident outreach letter at its June 22 meeting. Members line-edited the draft on screen, standardizing capitalization of "Modern Architecture," trimming the town-wide survey paragraph, and adding a link to a long-buried town webpage detailing the neighborhood's architectural history that chair Rick said he found only this week. Planning Department liaison Christine reported that consultant Stacy Spies has finished March photography and site work but pushed survey completion to "the end of summer." Members reviewed a GIS wetlands map covering 3 and 9 Ellis Road, 40 Kendal Common Road and 11 French Road, and concluded the wetlands picture is "far less impactful than I imagined," declining to fold buildability analysis into the letter. A neighborhood meeting is targeted for October.
