Kendal Common Historic District Committee Sets August Neighborhood Outreach Meeting

WESTON — July 25, 2024 — Weston's Kendal Common Local Historic District Study Committee scheduled a neighborhood outreach gathering for August 29 and a preparatory session for August 7. The committee, working toward a potential second local historic district in town, set the August 29 event at 7 p.m. at committee member Rick Brotman's home, targeting the roughly 12 to 13 Kendal Common property owners whose support the effort requires. Members debated whether a unanimous show of support is necessary or whether a smaller critical mass could be enough to advance the proposal, with Brotman noting "unless we mobilize the group itself, it just feels like it would just be me pushing it." The meeting also marked the final session for town staff liaison Christine, who departs August 7 for a senior planner generalist role in Concord; John Field was identified as her interim successor on the committee's file.
