Weston 3A Working Group Advances Overlay Plans, Holds Off on Golf Clubs

WESTON — June 5, 2025 — Weston's joint 3A working group moved forward on overlay zoning for three sites while declining to pursue its two golf clubs. Select Board Chair Lisa Revers, Planning Board Chair Leslie Glynn, and Planning Board member Al Adelot reviewed plans to overlay roughly 100 units each on Miriam Village and the active 751 Boston Post Road 40B construction project — intentionally zoning for fewer units than already permitted to discourage any switch in use. On Boston Properties, Adelot reported the company is now actively partnering with the town to ask state housing officials to relocate the center of the required half-mile transit radius from Kendall Green station to a proposed relocated station on the campus, which would open the entire site to lower-density planning rather than forcing a 312-unit, five-story tower into one corner. Two public site walks are scheduled June 9 and June 17. Town Planner Imai Ayu said draft bylaw parameters for all sites should be ready within three weeks, targeting a mid-November special town meeting.
