Kendal Common committee sets April 24 neighborhood Zoom on historic district

WESTON — March 28, 2024 — Kendal Common study committee finalizes April 24 neighborhood Zoom on proposed historic district. Members set an 8 p.m. virtual session for the roughly 16- to 17-home mid-century modern neighborhood, dividing roles among Rick Stahl, Alicia Primer, David Hutchinson, Henry Stone and Kathy Roberts. Crescent Street Historic District commissioner Addie Fisk will speak on living inside an existing district. Primer cautioned the committee can only address MBTA Communities zoning in general terms because "there's so very much unknown right now." Hutchinson framed the pitch around property values: "You're moving into Weston and spending a lot of money for your property because it's Weston and because it has a certain look and feel. Our job is to protect that look and feel." Roberts will prepare a short slide on modernist sales data with input from Compass realtors Sandrine Deschaux Genovitz and Bill Janovitz. The committee meets April 18 to finalize the agenda.
