Kendal Common study committee finalizes agenda for April 24 neighborhood meeting

WESTON -- April 18, 2024, Weston's Kendal Common study committee locked in the agenda for an April 24 virtual neighborhood meeting on the proposed local historic district. Co-Chair Kathy will introduce the committee, David Hutcheson will give a short overview of mid-century modern architecture framed around architecture, community and landscape, and Co-Chair Alicia Conner will explain the purview of a local historic district and bring in a 25-year Crescent Street district resident to speak to lived experience. Committee member Rick will moderate questions and flagged the central unresolved issue: "Is it a consensus or is it actually unanimous?" He noted Kendal Common carried deed restrictions for 40 to 45 years before being voted out in the mid-1990s and said reinstating them could be a fallback. The committee approved Feb. 29 and March 28 minutes and set its next meeting for May 2 at 9:30 a.m.
