Conservation Board OKs Golf Course Redesign
Conservation Commission · Meeting of September 29, 2026
Weston Conservation Commission approves golf course green relocation, continues two wetlands cases to October. The board voted 7-0 to amend the order of conditions for the Leo J. Martin Golf Course, allowing DCR to relocate the Hole 13 green and add fill near Hole 5 for cross-country skiing, with member Glenn Butcher pushing through a two-year monitoring condition on new pollinator areas.
The commission also issued a negative determination for a septic replacement at 37 School Street for applicant Carol Gilbert, and continued a Notice of Intent for 4 Prescott Lane to October 13 after staff said the state had not yet issued a stormwater file number. Conservation Agent Jordan separately reported that a possible town land purchase near Route 20 could stall over the sellers' objection to any future parking area, calling such a restriction a potential "deal breaker," while the commission also weighs accepting roughly 48 acres of Modera development backland for the Weston Forest and Trail Association.
