Weston ZBA unanimously approves Concord Road addition after three-meeting negotiation

WESTON — September 30, 2025 — Weston ZBA grants special permit for Concord Road addition after abutter reaches escrow deal. Acting Chair Stephen J. Larocque, Associate Member Laura Mintz, and Associate Member Tristan Colangelo voted 3-0 at the September 30 meeting to approve applicant John Hadley's request for an addition and second-story dormer at 93 Concord Road, the third hearing on the application. The permit carries conditions including construction-grade chain-link fencing along a sensitive tree corridor, a $2,500 escrow account to cover insurance gaps and deductibles, aeration access for the neighboring property's arborist, and a revised construction management plan that Hadley agreed to show to abutter Sheila before submission to the building department. The parties also resolved that Hadley's insurer would not add the abutter as an additional insured, but that Hadley would provide a formal letter accepting personal liability for any tree damage, with coverage described as extending to millions of dollars with a $1,000 per-occurrence deductible.
