Weston Zoning Board of Appeals grants Oxbow Road garage permit, delays Riverside Road sign case to September. Chair Stephen J. Larocque, Wendy Kaplan Amour and Laura Mintz voted 3-0 to grant architect Michael Samra a special permit for setback relief on a detached garage at 82 Oxbow Road, reducing an existing setback encroachment from 16.5 feet to 12 feet 9 inches.
An accessory dwelling unit was dropped from the design; Samra told the board, "We don't have anyone sleeping in there, Wendy. It's not an ADU." Mintz noted it was the first time she recalled the board weighing non-final plans, saying, "I wish that these were final plans." The board separately continued a sign variance hearing for 1 Riverside Road, sought by Weston Fee Owner LLC through attorney Ian Urquhart, to September 22 at 6 p.m., timed around an upcoming meeting with Town Counsel on Chapter 40A changes.
