Weston ZBA Delays Nonesuch Road Special Permit Vote to August 8

WESTON — July 17, 2024 — Weston ZBA continues special permit hearing for proposed home at 44 Nonesuch Road to August 8. The Zoning Board of Appeals voted 3-0 at its July 17 Zoom meeting to continue the hearing for applicant John Hansen, who is seeking a special permit for a new home at 44 Nonesuch Road. The board had pressed Hansen at a prior session over whether the project's basement constitutes a story above grade and whether Residential Gross Floor Area calculations comply with town bylaws. Member Stephen J. Larocque reiterated Wednesday that the operative measure is the existing natural grade where it meets the foundation — not any proposed finish grade altered by construction — telling Hansen "that's the point where you have to base everything off of." Chair Jane Fisher Carlson said the board would be satisfied once the town's own reviewers confirmed the calculations were done correctly. Hansen's engineer, who holds the determining role in those calculations, is unavailable after August 15.
