Weston ZBA Continues Habitat 40B Hearing, Sets May 25 Close-and-Deliberate Session

WESTON — May 10, 2023 — Weston ZBA moves Habitat for Humanity 40B hearing to May 25 in-person session, targeting a late-June decision. The Zoning Board of Appeals voted 3-0 Wednesday to continue its comprehensive permit hearing on a proposed Habitat for Humanity affordable housing development at 0 Wellesley Street — a roughly 3.17-acre parcel — to Thursday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at Town Hall, where the board plans to close the hearing and immediately begin deliberations. Chair Jane Carlson, members Winifred Lee and Steve LaRock, and Town Counsel George Pucci of KP Law agreed that Pucci would deliver a draft comprehensive permit decision by May 23. One item remained open: a short-term MassDOT permit for worker parking on Route 20, needed before on-site parking becomes accessible after an estimated five to six weeks of site preparation. Pucci noted that under state law the board has 40 days from the hearing's close to issue a decision, placing the deadline in late June.
