Weston Select Board Reorganizes, Defers Clean-Energy Financing Vote to June

WESTON — May 16, 2023 — Weston Select Board reorganizes and defers vote on $30 million clean-energy financing program. At its May 16 meeting, the board unanimously elected Lise N. Revers as chair and newly elected member Tom Palmer as clerk, with Chris Houston stepping down from the chair role. The board heard a presentation from Rob Dolan of MassDevelopment on the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy program, through which Greatland Realty Partners is pursuing roughly $30 million in financing across all three phases of the Riverside lab-and-office development on Park Road. Director of Finance Susan Kelly said the town does not currently bill for betterments and wanted more information before proceeding; the board deferred the opt-in vote to its next meeting, expected June 13. The board separately cleared Greatland to begin the southern segment of Park Road infrastructure upgrades this July, while Gorman said he would send a letter to MassDOT pushing back on maintenance requirements for the northern segment. The consent agenda — including a classification plan adjustment to align salaries at the 75th percentile and a 2.5 percent non-union cost-of-living increase, both within the approved budget — passed unanimously.
