Weston ZBA approves special permit for 55 Wellesley Street rear addition
WESTON — November 13, 2024 — Weston ZBA unanimously grants special permit for rear addition at 55 Wellesley Street. The Zoning Board of Appeals voted 3-0 on Nov. 13 to allow Cammie and Cam Salem to build a roughly 492-square-foot addition — about 300 square feet on the first floor and 200 on the second — on a 16,000-square-foot Zone B lot that requires 40,000. Acting Chair Stephen J. Larocque, joined by Wendy Kaplan Amour and Laura Mintz, found the work would not be substantially more detrimental than the existing 1891 structure. Builder Teddy Bascombe of Firth said the addition does not move closer to the side lot line, currently about 18 feet against a 25-foot requirement. "The bylaws imposed on the house," Larocque said. The Pendergast family submitted written support; a 20-day appeal period begins once the decision is stamped.
