Weston Select Board revises appointments policy, opens special town meeting warrant

WESTON — July 9, 2025 — Weston Select Board overhauls appointments policy and opens special town meeting warrant. At the July 8 meeting, the board approved changes requiring all board and committee members to formally reapply at the end of their terms, with all vacancies publicly advertised — a significant shift from prior practice. The board also approved setting Council on Aging membership at 11, within the bylaws' nine-to-thirteen range. Town Manager Leon Gaumond was authorized to solicit real estate brokers for the sale of buildings at the Case Estates properties. The board opened the warrant for a special town meeting on October 15, with articles due by August 15. On the consent agenda, the board referred a floodplain zoning bylaw to the Planning Board and authorized a letter to the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities on the MBTA 3A Communities Act.
