Weston Select Board approves Case Estates sale, backs JST restaurant parking variance

WESTON — June 25, 2026 — Weston Select Board approves sale of three Case Estates buildings and backs parking variance for proposed JST restaurant. Town Manager Leon Goemond recapped the board's June 23, 2026 meeting in an episode of Select Board Rewind, reporting that the board voted to approve purchase and sale agreements for 131, 133, and 135 Wellesley Street, properties Goemond called "a major project facing the town." The board also voted unanimously to support the Josiah Smith Tavern restaurant project, known as The Woods, and the Friends of the JST in seeking a Zoning Board of Appeals parking variance "to allow them to use some off-street parking as part of their vehicle count." Separately, the board endorsed phase one of a town green planting project along Townhouse Road and near First Parish Church, with a consultant to be hired for planning. Appointments to two Traffic and Sidewalk Committee vacancies were deferred to the board's July 14 meeting after full board attendance could not be secured for all candidate interviews.
