Weston 3A Working Group Targets EOHLC Bylaw Approval Before October Town Meeting

WESTON — August 14, 2025 — Weston's MBTA 3A Working Group approved a community outreach plan and agreed to seek state preliminary bylaw review ahead of its October 15 town meeting deadline. Town Planner Imai Aiu told the joint Select Board and Planning Board panel that Town Counsel received its initial bylaw review the same day and recommended restructuring the draft as a single standalone MBTA 3A Overlay Zoning section, a format also preferred by the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities. Select Board member Lise Revers said attorney Amy Quessel of KP Law believes EOHLC can return preliminary comments in roughly one to two weeks. The group's current projection shows the plan reaching 9.3 percent on the Subsidized Housing Inventory, leaving approximately 86 units still needed to reach the state's 10 percent threshold. Members divided up presentations to town committees and boards, agreed on a postcard mailer, and discussed inserting outreach materials with the town meeting warrant.
