Weston Select Board Advances Special Town Meeting Prep, Senior Housing Study
WESTON — September 23, 2025 — Weston Select Board prepares for October 15 special town meeting and advances senior housing study. The board met September 23 in hybrid session, reviewing articles for the special town meeting warrant and hearing a presentation on Manor North, a proposed senior housing development at the Old Drabbington Lodge site, which follows a town meeting rezoning vote from several years ago. Town Manager Leon Gaumond reported the board authorized a non-binding letter of intent supporting continued developer negotiations, signed a letter backing state legislation on remote participation at open town meetings, and appointed Jennifer Millen as the board's parklands representative to the Community Preservation Committee. A September 25 water tank session with engineers Wright Pierce covered a proposed reduction to the height of the Cat Rock tank and a study of expanding the water system to unserved areas of town. Residents were advised to watch their mailboxes for a final addendum containing the 3A MBTA Communities Act zoning bylaw and development agreement for the Boston property site.
