Weston Planning Board votes 3-0 to back MBTA housing compliance plan
WESTON — September 24, 2025 — Weston Planning Board unanimously recommends MBTA Communities Act zoning plan ahead of October 15 special town meeting. The three-member quorum — Chair Leslie Glynn and members Timothy Shawn Lanier and Al Adelot — voted 3-0 Wednesday to support the revised compliance plan, which zones four districts for at least 750 units of multifamily housing and pairs the bylaw with a development agreement governing the Boston Properties site at 133 Boston Post Road. Select Board Chair Lisa Reverse, attending as a guest, warned that a no vote at town meeting would expose Weston to Attorney General enforcement and jeopardize a school-related state grant currently held in escrow pending compliance by January 1, 2026. The Boston Properties plan envisions up to 480 units in three phases — 100 townhouses and a 280-unit apartment building in the short term — with Adelot noting the buildout would increase the town's housing stock by under 10 percent while projecting a long-term 40 percent reduction in traffic if all phases are completed. A mailer containing the full bylaw, development agreement, and board support votes is being prepared for every Weston household.
