Weston board sends MBTA 3A, ADU bylaws to Planning Board ahead of December town meeting

WESTON — October 8, 2024 — Weston Town Hall electrification pencils out to a 300-year payback in early analysis. Town Manager Leon Gaumond, recapping the Select Board's Oct. 8 meeting on his Select Board Rewind podcast, said Sustainability Committee and Permanent Building Committee members Jim Pallando and Nick Christman presented preliminary findings showing roughly a 300-year return on the investment needed to electrify Town Hall. "The preliminary results of that don't look too promising," Gaumond said, adding the committees plan to revise their approach. The board also referred two zoning bylaws — an MBTA Communities Section 3A multifamily district and revised accessory dwelling unit rules — to the Planning Board for an Oct. 16 hearing ahead of the Dec. 3 special town meeting. Tom Palmer delivered a Fire Station Working Group update; the board signed the Nov. 5 election warrant and accepted a library gift.
