Unified Plan Committee sets Oct. 21 community meeting format and stations

WESTON — October 9, 2024 — Weston Unified Plan Committee locks in Oct. 21 community meeting format and buys a domain. Members approved purchasing westonup.com for under $100 — GoDaddy listed it at about $22 a year — after rejecting "tinyurl.com/westonup" as too cluttered for drive-by sandwich boards. The Oct. 21 session at the recreation center will open with a Barrett Planning Group presentation, then run 45 minutes of three rotating 15-minute stations on sustainability, quality of life and changing conditions. The ZenCity project survey has logged 90 completed responses; the transfer station event produced 65 rack cards distributed, 12 emails and three paper surveys, with another 20 emails at the Weston Forest and Trail Association party. The committee approved Sept. 11 minutes by voice vote and set its next meeting for 4 p.m. Oct. 30 via Zoom, moved earlier to accommodate the SNEAPA conference.
