Weston 3A Working Group Flags Open Issues Ahead of October Town Meeting Vote

WESTON — August 28, 2025 — Weston's MBTA 3A Working Group pressed through unresolved bylaw details Thursday with a special town meeting targeted for October 5. Select Board Chair Lisa Revers and Planning Board Chair Leslie Glynn led a two-hour Zoom session in which Town Planner Ima Iyu walked members through the latest round of Boston Properties edits on density tables, setbacks, height limits, and parking ratios for the 133 Boston Post Road site — with the group acknowledging the final draft is unlikely to reach the warrant printer by the Tuesday deadline. Revers confirmed the state has already withheld a $275,000 literacy grant as a noncompliance penalty and said the attorney general's office has given Weston until January 1 to comply before potentially imposing additional daily fines or filing suit. Planning Board member Alex Selvig said he was "absolutely 100 percent not happy" with the plan but felt bound to bring the town into compliance. Planning Board hearings begin September 3, with an in-person hybrid session planned for September 24 and October 1 held as a backup.
