Weston Board of Health unanimously approved three measures at its February 11 meeting. Chair Laura Azzam, along with members Dr. Jennifer Kickham and Diana C.
Chaplin, granted Pine Brook Country Club a variance to acidify rice under Federal Food Code FC 3-502.11 following review of the applicant's Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points plan. The board also voted unanimously to delegate emergency-waiver authority for the Select Board's SGAR policy to Public Health Director Kelly Pawluczonek and the health agent, eliminating the need for a full board hearing within a 48-hour emergency window, pending subsequent discussion at regular meetings. Public Health Nurse Rachel reported 31 flu cases in January and one in February, with ongoing regional outreach on health education topics.
