WESTON — Board of Health unanimously approves animal inspector and reopens septic construction. The board, chaired by Laura Azzam and including Dr. Jennifer Kickham and Diana Chaplin, voted to lift a winter ban on sewage disposal system construction effective March 18, with approximately 10 plans pending review.
Public Health Director Kelly Pawluczonek reported the state has mandated a 250-question survey assessing board capabilities and additional staff and member certifications; the regional public health grant supporting shared testing and inspections runs through June 30, 2027 with uncertain renewal prospects. Public Health Nurse Rachel Olivera reported 25 confirmed flu cases in February and 7 in early March, with ongoing opioid prevention work including distribution of tick kits and Narcan kits at Town Hall.
