Weston ZBA Unanimously Approves Three Special Permits in One Night

WESTON — April 28, 2026 — Weston's Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved all three special permit applications at its April 28 meeting. Chair Stephen J. Larocque led a three-member panel that cleared a new home for Jinshan Shen at 44 Page Road with a 3-0 vote, accepting a confirmed lot area of 1.16 acres and a resulting RGFA of 13.5 percent after the applicant resolved a survey dispute over a rear brook boundary. Acting Chair Jane Fisher Carlson then led a second panel — joined by Wendy Kaplan Armour and Laura Mintz — that approved an open porch, outdoor fireplace, and spa terrace at 192 Meadowbrook Road for Brian and Allison Elworthy, conditioned on a prohibition against any future permanent framing or storm and screen panels beyond the mechanized roll-down screens the owners committed to use; the existing home already carries an RGFA of 14.9 percent. The panel then approved a widened front portico at 58 Juniper Road for Brett and Sarah Deware, a three-foot encroachment matching the existing front steps, with two abutter letters of support on file and no conditions attached.
