WESTON -- March 14, 2023, Weston's Zoning Board of Appeals continued a building height variance hearing for 506 North Avenue to May 9 after the Planning Board split on a recommendation. The ZBA, Chair Stephen J. Larocque, Member Wendy Kaplan Amour, and Associate Member Laura Mintz, voted 3-0 to delay action on a request by Henry Arnaudo on behalf of CNL Homes, LLC, which seeks relief from the town's building height dimensional requirements. Attorneys Joseph Duquette and Ryan Grossman told the board the Planning Board deadlocked at its March 1 session after its chair had to leave early, and that the applicant has continued the Planning Board matter to April 5 while holding discussions with town planner EMI on potential mitigation measures. Larocque said the ZBA is bound by dimensional standards regardless of any mitigation the Planning Board might accept, and warned that his board "will stop coughing" only when it has a clear written recommendation in hand before rendering a final decision.
