Weston ZBA amends Glen Road special permit for wider pool

WESTON — June 28, 2021 — Weston ZBA amends Glen Road special permit after ledge forces pool redesign. The Zoning Board of Appeals voted 3-0 on June 28 to amend the December 16, 2020 special permit for 295 Glen Road, allowing owner Bridget Thompson to widen the approved pool from 16 to 18 feet while holding the length at 32 feet, and to enlarge the hot tub from 6-by-6 to 7-by-7 feet. Builder Zach Burnett told the board a test hole revealed ledge roughly two feet down: "We did a cost analysis on chipping the ledge and making it bigger, and once we marked it out, it just didn't make any sense." Chair Jane Carlson, with members Winifred Li and Alan Rose, also incorporated a Lynch Landscape plan featuring 15 green giant arborvitae, London plane trees and privet screening. Abutter Mr. Martin told the board, "If this is the plan, then it satisfies me."
