Conservation Commission approves rebuild of fire-damaged 506 North Avenue home

WESTON — June 30, 2021 — Weston Conservation Commission clears North Avenue rebuild and closes out Merriam Street culvert. The commission voted 4-0 on June 29 to issue a negative determination for demolition of a fire-damaged home at 506 North Avenue and construction of a replacement house, septic and driveway entirely outside the 100-foot Stony Brook wetland buffer, with the project adding 500 square feet of impervious area routed to a subsurface infiltration system. Members also voted 4-0 to issue a certificate of compliance for the Merriam Street culvert (DEP file 337-1361); Conservation Administrator Jordan said consultant Pat Gardner called it "one of the more successful culvert projects he's seen." Anza Outdoor Solutions was awarded the FY22 mowing contract as sole bidder and the land maintenance contract as low bidder at prior-year pricing. Chair Joe Berman said the commission will open discussion of a Weston wetlands bylaw at its July 13 meeting.
