Weston UPC Finalizes Community Vision Meeting Plan, Sets April 1 Follow-Up

WESTON — March 17, 2025 — Weston's Unified Planning Committee locked in logistics for a March 20 community vision meeting and opened debate on a subcommittee structure to drive phase two of the town's comprehensive plan. Acting under Danielle Black, COA Chair, the committee reviewed an updated slide presentation from consultant Jill of Barrett Planning Group, confirming that a draft vision statement will be posted as a PDF to westonup.com the morning of the meeting and that Weston Media Center will be asked to record the session. Five facilitators from Barrett Planning Group and NICHE will staff Zoom breakout rooms where residents will use an online Miro board to mark what they would keep, add, or remove from the draft vision. The panel debated at length whether schools and capital finance should share a subcommittee with services and facilities — Finance Committee representative Jon Harris argued for a combined finance topic covering the town's two major upcoming capital projects, while Select Board representative Laurie Bent urged keeping schools separate given their legal independence.
