Weston Traffic Committee to Vote on Sherborne Circle Safety Package in September

WESTON — August 20, 2025 — Weston Traffic and Sidewalk Committee schedules September vote on Sherborne Circle safety improvements after public testimony about speeding and missing signs. Committee Chair Jay Doyle and his colleagues heard from Tony Selig of 70 Sherborne Circle, who said his child was forced to throw himself onto a roadside bank to avoid a speeding pest-control truck and reported that he had contacted the town on June 18, July 18, and August 18 with no action taken. The committee directed Weston Police Captain Kelly to collect speed and volume data between Brenton Road and Tyler Road before the September 25 meeting, when the panel plans a formal vote on a recommended package of stop signs, speed-limit signs, and children-at-play warnings. A planned presentation on Wellesley Street pedestrian crossing options was postponed because the town's engineering consultant was not ready. The committee also learned that Massachusetts Water Resources Authority delays are stalling both the Ash Street Walkway project and Route 30 sidewalk work, with town engineer Jason saying he would escalate the matter to Town Manager Leon upon his return from vacation.
