Weston Traffic and Sidewalk Committee tentatively sets September 15 to close Route 30 shared-use path public comment. The committee, meeting by Zoom on July 22 under outgoing Chair Ann Wiedie in her final meeting as chair, reached consensus on the target date but deferred a formal vote to its August 19 meeting, when the deadline will be formally advertised and voted on. Town Engineer Jason Lavoie said he would bring two LIDAR intersection recommendations — Cases Corner and Route 117 at Merriam Street — to the Select Board the following Tuesday, after the committee reached informal consensus on those sites.
Members also flagged a significant gap in how public correspondence has been stored, with letters and emails scattered across personal inboxes and Lavoie's town folder rather than any central archive; Richard Flynn agreed to work with Lavoie to consolidate and categorize the material. The committee also delayed further action on the town-wide pedestrian and bicycle plan, prepared by Beta Group, to give three newer members time to review the full draft before August 19.
