Weston sets March 12 special town meeting on water tank petition
WESTON — February 4, 2025 — Citizens' petition forces Weston to hold a March 12 special town meeting on water tanks. Town Manager Leon Gaumond confirmed in his Select Board Rewind that the town clerk certified enough signatures to compel three articles — project funding, a land swap and a height-bylaw change — to be voted at 7 p.m. at the schools. The board spent its entire Jan. 29 session on the project with consultants Wright-Pierce and DPW staff, working through written questions from members Lise N. Revers and Tom Palmer. Separately, resident Lori Bent urged a municipal ban on second-generation rodenticides that poison raptors; action was deferred to let the schools weigh in. The Town Government Study Committee will bring a three-to-five Select Board expansion article to the May 5 annual town meeting, and a redo of the failed MBTA 3A multifamily zoning vote is being prepared after the Milton ruling. The draft FY26 budget runs about 4.5 percent over current year.
