Conservation Commission clears 128 Sudbury Road redevelopment in 4-0 vote

WESTON -- February 4, 2025, Weston Conservation Commission clears 128 Sudbury Road redevelopment but defers tree-policy rewrite. The commission voted 4-0 to close the continued hearing and issue an order of conditions for the long, narrow lot bordered by town conservation land, after re-noticing abutters who had been missed in January. Brian Nelson of MetroWest Engineering detailed the stormwater design and a planting plan that landscape designer Paul of Landscape Collaborative called "0.03 percent non-native planting material on this whole entire project." Conservation Administrator Jordan Burke required two full growing seasons of monitoring given added impervious area in the buffer zone; five trees come down for solar efficiency, with three replacement oaks for one mature oak. The commission also issued a certificate of compliance closing out a 2004 aquatic-vegetation order at 45 Sudbury Road, continued 133 Boston Post Road to Feb. 25, and held off adopting tree-policy edits after Chair Rees Tulloss and member Glenn Butcher pressed for a clearer split between expedited hazard removals and general mitigation rules.
