Weston Select Board holds single tax rate, obligates final ARPA funds
WESTON — December 10, 2024 — Weston Select Board keeps a single tax rate and clears $3.6 million in final ARPA spending. At the Dec. 10 meeting recapped by Town Manager Leon Gaumond, the board held its annual tax classification hearing and voted to maintain an equal residential and commercial rate, with Gaumond noting that a split rate would deliver "minimal" relief to homeowners while landing "grossly significant" impact on the town's small commercial base. The board also concurred with Gaumond's proposal to obligate the town's remaining $3.6 million in federal pandemic recovery funds ahead of the Dec. 31 deadline. Select Board Chair Lise N. Revers reported the Case Estates buildings RFP drew two bidders — one for all three buildings, one for the barn and schoolhouse only — now under subcommittee review. Members also debated the Water Tanks project, the 0 Hobbs parcel and Section 3A compliance without taking votes.
