Weston Select Board drops Chapter 32B vote after reaching tentative PEC deal
WESTON — November 20, 2020 — Weston shelves Chapter 32B health insurance vote after reaching tentative union deal. Returning from executive session Nov. 20, the Select Board chair announced the town and the PEC had reached a tentative agreement, eliminating the need to act on a noticed item to revoke Section 19 and accept Sections 21 through 23 of Chapter 32B. Those provisions would have moved health insurance plan design out of traditional collective bargaining and into an expedited municipal process. "In light of this positive development, we will not be taking any action," the chair said. The tentative agreement is subject to ratification by the PEC membership; terms were not disclosed. No member of the public spoke, and the three members present — the chair and members identified in the audio only as Harvey and Chris — voted unanimously to adjourn.
