Weston Select Board appoints ZBA member, awards Riverside land swap
WESTON — April 11, 2023 — Weston Select Board fills long-vacant ZBA seat and advances Riverside land swap. The board voted unanimously at its April 11 meeting to appoint Tristan Colangelo, a real estate litigation partner at Kirsten Korn and Lichtenstein in Wellesley, as an associate member of the Zoning Board of Appeals through June 30, 2023, ending what ZBA member Jane Carlson called a search conducted "with bated breath." The board also voted unanimously to award a land exchange RFP to Weston Fee Owner, LLC under the Great Lands development agreement off Riverside, with Member Alfred L. Aydelott calling it "a great outcome" for the town. In a wide-ranging cemetery discussion, DPW Deputy Director Rich Sullivan and parks and cemeteries head Jackie Jackson presented a preliminary sketch for a three-unit columbarium at Linwood Cemetery that would add 144 urn spaces, though Member Rebecca J. Mercuri said the structures look like "a little apartment building in the middle of a park" and pushed for alternatives. The board also previewed Town Meeting positions, with a roughly $1 million water tank design appropriation from certified free cash expected to be the session's central financial question.
