Weston Select Board Appoints Chrisman to Sustainability Committee, OKs Wall Repairs

WESTON — August 9, 2022 — Weston Select Board appoints software executive Nick Chrisman to the Sustainability Committee and authorizes $1,600 in wall repairs. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to seat Chrisman, a chief operating officer transitioning into the climate sector, to a term expiring June 30, 2025, choosing him over two other candidates — attorney and jury commissioner Pamela Wood and longtime resident Alan North — after Sustainability Committee Chair Katarina Wilkins called for "a quantitative mind" who would reliably show up for quorum. The board also unanimously authorized roughly $1,600 from a 2006 Case of States appropriation for emergency masonry repairs to Louise's Wall ahead of the freeze-thaw season, with a broader repair estimate of approximately $21,250 flagged for a future town meeting. Separately, Finance Committee Chair Lisa Ritano briefed the board on a 4-4 deadlock over a proposed school special education reserve fund aimed at smoothing out-of-district placement costs averaging roughly $170,000 each, with the article still heading to the September special town meeting without a Finance Committee recommendation.
