Weston Historical Commission Advances Silver Hill Road Property to Public Hearing

WESTON — June 28, 2022 — Weston Historical Commission clears two properties, advances storm-damaged Tudor revival to public hearing. At its June 28 virtual meeting, the seven-member commission voted unanimously that a 1931 Chestnut Street house was not significant under the demolition delay bylaw, freeing owner Jason Lavoie to proceed with planned work, while declaring a 1940 Tudor colonial revival at 61 Silver Hill Road significant and scheduling a public hearing for July 26 after architect Tom Timko described extensive roof damage from a fallen pine tree. The commission also unanimously endorsed Eagle Scout George Sullivan's plan to install two QR-code interpretive signs at Josiah Smith Tavern and First Parish Church, directed $4,000 in unspent municipal funds toward a Weston Historical Society exhibition, and voted unanimously to renominate Member Steve Wagner to the Community Preservation Committee.
