Unified Plan Committee sets Dec. 11 survey close, finalizes town meeting pitch
WESTON — November 13, 2024 — Weston Unified Plan Committee sets Dec. 11 survey close and town meeting pitch for $50,000. Members locked the community survey window at its Nov. 13 meeting, agreed to engage Weston High School's principal's advisory council of 35 to 40 students for a 30-minute session Dec. 4, and workshopped a four-minute pitch the chair will deliver from the floor seeking continued funding. Consultant Judy of the Barrett Planning Group urged members not to oversell the results: "It's a participation opportunity," she said, warning an electronic survey cannot make "defensible claims that they are representative of the community." Member Bob asked the chair to soften framing that Weston is "facing meaningful growth," cautioning against appearing aligned with the 3A zoning debate. Leon, noting the warrants are already printed and mailed, predicted a "light lift": "Get in, get out, and collect the win while you got it." Next meeting Dec. 18.
