Tree Advisory Group plants four species at two town sites

Weston's Tree Advisory Group planted four species at two sites as town green project moves toward May voter approval. Chair Carol Lee advanced the Town Green 2026 Community Preservation Act application to the Planning Board on April 29, with a May 4 Town Meeting vote pending. The group oversaw April 15 plantings at Memorial Pool and the Library, plus a replacement yellowwood at Dairy Joy.
The group also discussed tree protection efforts with Land's Sake and reviewed resident concerns about tree damage and informal ornamentation along Merriam Street. Members noted a Lincoln tree removal hearing where Eversource sought approval to cut 264 trees due to electricity reliability issues.
