Weston Tree Advisory Group brings 2026 Town Green CPC toward May voter approval. The community preservation project has won endorsements from five town committees, with Chair Carol Lee reporting support from the DPW, Historical Commission, Finance Committee, and Recreation Committee before the Planning Board reviews the application. Lee questioned whether the application's $3,860 average per-tree cost is credible, with DPW official Jackie Jackson explaining that municipal work must comply with state prevailing wage rules.
A Girl Scout proposal to plant trees in Case Park will be delayed to 2028 due to DPW understaffing; the department has only 15 of 20 positions filled. Eversource is planting trees before Arbor Day, including a Fifth Grade Tree at the Library.
