Select Board Splits 4-0-1 on Concord Road Funding
Select Board · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Weston Select Board splits 4-0-1 on funding a Concord Road engineering study after years of delay. The board authorized immediate repaving, set for the week of September 28, plus a $230,000 design contract toward a future rebuild; member Rebecca Mercuri abstained, saying the town needed "the big picture" on repaving priorities first. DPW's Richard Sullivan said the road's pavement condition index has fallen to 35-45, calling it unacceptable.
Separately, the board voted 5-0 to open the warrant for the November 23 special town meeting and heard HYM's revised pitch for a 215-unit senior living community at 300 Wellesley Street, including a $300,000-per-unit affordable housing option member Lise Revers questioned on legal grounds. The board also appointed Phil Mimak to the Permanent Building Committee, 5-0.
