WESTON — July 12, 2021 — Weston Historical Commission reviews Habitat's six-unit Wellesley Street plan and backs wall restriction outline. Keith Gross of Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston, with Construction Director Terry Patton and landscape architect Antonia Bellotta, presented three two-unit buildings on the 3.5-acre town-donated parcel at 0 Wellesley Street, constrained by Riverfront Act setbacks and a Conservation Commission no-disturb zone. Development consultant Felicia Elias said the deed-restricted condos will serve buyers at 80 percent of area median income, with 250 to 300 hours of sweat equity and units counting toward the Subsidized Housing Inventory. Member John Thompson called the massing "pretty spot on" but criticized shutters that "wouldn't cover the windows if they were closed." The commission voted 5-0 to endorse Leslie's draft preservation deed restriction outline for Louisa's Wall, with next-year repairs estimated at $10,000 to $12,000 and the restriction itself at $4,000 to $5,000.
