Historical Commission approves three home projects, advances two to June hearing

WESTON — May 14, 2024 — Weston Historical Commission clears four house projects and regroups on cemetery wall. The commission unanimously approved replacement of 13 windows and three doors at the 1750 James Josiah Livermore house at 3 Plain Road, where owner Hannah Coshow specified Andersen 400-series wood windows with true divided lights. Members also advanced a carriage-house rebuild at 98 Love Lane and a 22 Church Street addition by architect Pete Fletcher of Patrick Ahearn Architect to June 18 public hearings, and approved a window-and-door replacement plan at the 1937 colonial revival at 15 Perry Lane. Most of the open discussion focused on the roughly $700,000 Central Cemetery memorial wall article, which failed at Town Meeting by 21 votes. Member Steve Wagner said a 20 percent contingency and the framing of the project as a "stone wall" rather than a memorial hurt the vote, and pledged to return with a firm stonemason's bid and engineering drawings.
