Building Committee Seeks Town Meeting Approval for Fire Department Design

WESTON — Fire Department Feasibility Study moves to design phase as Permanent Building Committee reviews five capital projects. Committee Chair James N. Polando reported that Tecton Architects and Vertex have submitted fee proposals to design and manage the fire department project, with design completion targeted before the 2027 Town Meeting and funding sought at the May annual Town Meeting.
John Marzec updated the committee on Brook School Apartments (bid opening April 29), Memorial Pool renovations (delayed completion to fall 2026 due to equipment supply delays), High School/Middle School Campus Master Plan (first meeting held March 19), and High School Field Number One lighting (design completion expected August 2026). Variable frequency drives for the pool filtration system are four months out, requiring the pool to operate on existing equipment for the 2026 season.
