WESTON — Board of the Council on Aging approves prior meeting minutes and hears declining participation reports. Chair Joan Heilbronner led a seven-member quorum on January 20 as Director Stephanie Keane reported November and December attendance below prior-year levels and outlined upcoming events including Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, and St. Patrick's Day programs, plus new night-time offerings planned for April and May.
The board directed staff to pursue online program registration, emphasizing the COA lags behind current practice. Board members learned that a 2019 community needs assessment is obsolete and staff is working with UMass for a new assessment, which carries an 18-month waiting list.
