WESTON — Council on Aging Board approves officers slate for June election. Chair Joan Heilbronner guided the board to unanimous approval of Karin Ott for Chair and Christine Hayward and Barbie Cobb for Co-Vice Chairs. Director Stephanie Keane reported April participation down 164 sign-ins but up 12 individual people year-over-year and noted a state grant of $50,640 was approved for fiscal year 2027 at $16 per older adult.
The board heard a proposal from Caitlyn Coyle of the UMass Boston Gerontology Institute for a new needs assessment study with a September 2026 to spring 2027 timeline and expressed enthusiasm for coordinating with a potential town-wide assessment under Select Board consideration.
