Weston Select Board to Seek Fire Station Design Fees at May Town Meeting

WESTON -- January 16, 2026, Weston Select Board signals support for fire station design fees at May Town Meeting. Town Manager Leon Gaumond, recapping the January 13 board meeting in a Select Board Rewind episode, said members appeared agreeable to bringing fire station design fees before voters at the Annual Town Meeting, though no formal vote was taken; the board also dissolved the Fire Station Working Group and thanked co-chairs Jim Palando and Tom Palmer for their work. A public hearing on small cell equipment installation near 121 Love Lane was continued to January 27. HYM Investment Group presented plans for an assisted living center at 300 Wellesley Street, the Regis College site, but the board held off on referring the proposal to the Planning Board, citing a need for more information. Weston also received a Climate Leader designation from the Commonwealth and was notified it will be recognized by the Massachusetts Municipal Association for its 2025 annual report.
