Weston ZBA Unanimously Approves Two Special Permits at May Meeting

WESTON — May 21, 2025 — Weston's Zoning Board of Appeals approved two special permits unanimously at its May 21 meeting. The board voted 3-0 to grant an amended special permit to BP Weston Quarry LLC for outdoor amenity upgrades — including a pickleball court, fire pits, and expanded patio space — at 133 Boston Post Road, the former Biogen campus whose 15-year lease expires May 31; attorney James Ward and project manager Michael Johnson said the improvements are designed to attract new tenants to the now-vacant complex. In a separate 3-0 vote, the board approved a special permit for Anna Autism Care to operate an early childhood autism therapy center in Walters Hall on the Regis College campus at 235 Wellesley Street, serving up to 30 children ages one to six on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Regis College SVP Tom Pistorino confirmed the partnership, calling it "a tremendous partnership" that will expand clinical placement opportunities for Regis graduate students in behavior analysis. The permit runs concurrently with a six-year lease term, requiring Anna Autism Care to return to the board before any renewal option is exercised.
